Why We Use North Country Supplies (And Why You Should Too)

vendors partners gear

We get asked a lot about our gear. The hats, the hoodies, the trucks with our logo that look way too good for a drilling company. People want to know where it all comes from. So here it is, North Country Supplies. Our go-to for basically everything that has our name on it.

NCS handles everything for us, branded apparel, safety equipment, truck decals, custom gloves, hard hats, safety signs, you name it. If it’s got our logo on it and it looks good, there’s a very good chance they made it. If it looks bad, it was probably something I tried to do myself. We don’t talk about those.

How We Found Them

They’re local. That’s how it started. But that’s not why we stayed.

We stayed because they do things the right way. Quality products, quality service, and they stand behind both. Sound familiar? That’s kind of our thing. So when we found a vendor that operates the same way we do, it felt less like a business transaction and more like finding the one friend who actually shows up and helps you move. You know, instead of the friend who “just saw your text” three days later.

They don’t cheap out. They don’t cut corners. And they work tirelessly to make sure the product shows up on time and looking exactly how it should. In this industry, your crew is walking around with your name on their chest. It better look right. Because if your logo can’t survive a workday, what does that say about the rest of your operation?

They Do It All

Hats, shirts, hoodies, safety vests, hard hats, custom gloves, safety signs, truck decals, the list keeps going. If you can slap a logo on it, they can make it happen. I’m honestly waiting for the day they figure out how to brand the port-a-john toilet paper. At that point, we’ve truly made it as a company.

A regular print shop fills the order and moves on. NCS is a full-service operation that actually cares about how your brand looks out in the world. Which is good, because if it were left up to me, everything would be in Comic Sans.

The Hat Bar

Last year we used them for our annual holiday party giveaways. They set up a hat bar, and if you’ve never seen a room full of drilling guys carefully selecting custom hats like they’re choosing a fine wine, you haven’t lived. It was a hit. Like, people-wouldn’t-stop-talking-about-it-for-weeks kind of hit.

That’s the kind of thing that separates a vendor from a partner. They didn’t just drop off a box of hats and send an invoice. They showed up, set it up, and made it an experience. That’s effort you can’t fake. And honestly, it made us look way cooler than we actually are for throwing it. So thanks for that, NCS.

Partners, Not Vendors

When we work with companies, we’re not looking for someone to fill an order and disappear. We want partners, people who actually pick up the phone, remember what we ordered last time, and don’t treat every conversation like a sales pitch. You know, basic human stuff that’s apparently rare in business.

NCS is one of those companies. They’re a family-values operation, same as us. They care about the work, they care about the relationship, and they’re not just trying to invoice us into oblivion. That’s why they’ve got our business and that’s why they’ll keep it. Well, that and the hat bar. The hat bar definitely helped.

So if you’re a company looking for someone to handle your branding, gear, or safety equipment, go talk to them. Tell them Eddie sent you. It won’t get you a discount, but I’ll feel important for about five seconds. And if you need us for the drilling side, hit us up too.
